Because every existing knitted garment is different, it is impossible to produce conventional, ‘closed’ patterns for reknitting. Instead, Amy creates flexible ‘recipes’ that you can adapt to suit the particularities of your item.
So far, she has created these detailed instructions – including step-by-step animations, examples of existing projects, instructional videos, guidance on design and top tips – for five reknit treatments:
SWISS DARN decorate or reinforce fabric using duplicate stitches
STITCH HACK reconfigure stitches into new design
REPLACE CUFF remove and replace existing cuff or hem
REKNIT entirely or partially unravel garment and reuse yarn
CARDIGANISE cut open vertically or diagonally and add trim
